What to expect from an online psychotherapy session
I can offer up to 3 consultation sessions, each at a reduced cost of £55 which will give you the opportunity to say more about your circumstances and what you are wanting therapy for, and to also get a taste of what psychotherapy is about. This is also a time to ask any questions you might have about the process.
Online psychotherapy sessions create a safe and confidential space where you can talk about your feelings and experiences at your own pace with someone who truly listens.
For online sessions you should make sure you are somewhere private where you feel able to speak freely.
Psychotherapy is most effective when you truly want to engage with the session, so we will begin by discussing any reservations or doubts you may have.
Together we will discuss what you hope to achieve through therapy and set realistic goals which we will then work towards together. These might be things like wanting to understand yourself better, understanding what is causing you pain, unhappiness or sadness, addressing low self esteem and critical views of yourself or others and what this might entail, or helping you address various life circumstances from the losses of bereavement to childhood traumas.
It is important to understand that you need to be prepared to put some effort into the sessions if you want them to be successful. My role is not to 'fix' you, but to empower you with the understanding and tools you need to help yourself and bring about life-long change. This journey can be hard, but if you are prepared to put the effort in, the rewards are worthwhile, and I will be there to guide you at every step.
Together we will reflect on your experiences and, by examining how your past has shaped your life, bring about lasting change in your life.
We will review your progress at set points to discuss if the therapy is working for you or if we need to change course.
